The most sophisticated and more expensive bamboo countertops are made of one solid piece
of bamboo (which is made of bamboo strips laminated together). We carry stock bamboo planks
2 inches thick, unfinished, 1 foot wide by either 6 or 4 feet long (or pre-finished 5/8" thick with nosing - see our
bamboo stair treads). The bamboo slabs can be
buiscuit joined togather and then routed or detailed along the edge to put to the custom edge on your
counter, or simply left square.
A more simple approach is to use bamboo flooring as counter top (5/8" thick) on top of a plywood substrate and bamboo
nosing on the edges. If you are already putting in bamboo flooring, this is a valuable use for your
un-used flooring planks.
